Meeting on Agricultural Development Issues
Upon the initiative of State Representative-Governor in Imereti, Shavlego Tabatadze the meeting on agricultural development issues was convened. Governor Tabatadze spoke about necessity to implement state-funded programs, inclusiveness of the population, development of farming and state assistance subjects. He stressed, that “the general public should directly benefit from the ongoing programs and every family should be willing to participate in one of the programs. One of the state priorities is the agricultural development and the allocated funds should be spent efficiently”.
Head of Imereti Regional Division of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia - Rusudan Dzidzishvili delivered presentation, outlining 5 major state-run programs for agricultural development: Plant Future, Program of Agro-production Promotion, Georgian Tea Plantation Rehabilitation Program, Project of registration of farms/farmers and agro insurance.
