Contemporary gym for heavy athletes is being built in Sachkhere and local sportsmen will be able to train there from November. Ongoing works were inspected by the Minister for Regional Development and Infrastructure Zurab Alavidze, the State Representative-Governor in Imereti Givi Chichinadze and Vice Governor in Imereti Ioseb Khakhaleishvili. Due to the absence of gym, local sportsmen had to train in different buildings up to now. The construction of the gym is at the final phase and it cost about 700.000 GEL to the state budget. Heavy athletics section of Sackkhere trained hundreds of sportsmen, among them: champions of Olympic, world, Europe and Georgia games. 52 sportsmen are enrolled in the heavy athletics section as of today.
