The participants of the forum will talk about the role of universities in the development of the innovation ecosystem, what directions higher education institutions should strengthen with the support of partners, and how important the existence of a sustainable ecosystem is for the country's economic growth.

Zviad Shalamberidze, State Representative of Imereti, addressed the participants of the forum working in the university field of different countries along with other speakers.

"It is nice that Kutaisi International University is once again hosting the second innovation business forum. The international forum is on a topic that is truly a challenge for the modern world in the educational space.

Today, KIU is clearly associated with innovation, modern technology and high standards of education for everyone.

Our region, like the whole country, is facing many challenges and among them is unemployment, one of the important factors to solve which is to provide students with an education that will meet the requirements of the labor market.

It is welcome that KIU, with its activities, is trying to contribute to the development of our country in this direction and connect the educational and entrepreneurial sectors, which will definitely affect the development of the region and Kutaisi" - noted Zviad Shalamberidze.

The theme of this year's forum is "Digital transformation: a new vision of education for the future". During two days, participants from different countries of the world will hold presentations, panel discussions, and workshops together with their Georgian colleagues.

The second innovation business forum brings together representatives of the government, business, universities, international organizations, diplomatic missions, ambassadors, guests from the USA, Germany and other European countries.

The KIU Innovate Business Forum is being implemented this year in partnership with TUM International, within the framework of the KIU Innovation Landmark Initiative. Its purpose is to introduce and develop entrepreneurship and innovation in the university. With its content, the forum once again reveals the challenges and needs that business and industry face today in terms of innovation.
