The Kutaisi (Saghoria)-Baghdati-Abastumani-Benara highway of domestic importance begins with the rehabilitated 5 km section, which connects the city of Kutaisi with Baghdati and Van.

The mentioned section goes to the Kutaisi International University. Therefore, the rehabilitation of this section was important both for the local population and for the visitors and tourists of the region.

Within the framework of the project, the road section was rehabilitated, an asphalt-concrete surface was laid, artificial structures, drainage wells, fences and metal railings, sidewalls, concrete curbs, sidewalks, bicycle path, connections and entrances to the residents' yard, car pavilion, bus parking area and Road signs. The carriageway of the road was marked and limited.

An external lighting system was also arranged on the rehabilitated section.

The project was financed from the state budget and its contractual value was 8.6 million GEL.
