Tkibuli Municipal Theater is the grand prize winner of the international festival "Theatrical Imereti 2023". The play "Stateless Man" staged by the director Mariam Sikharulidze won recognition at the festival.
Also, at the closing ceremony of the 14th season of the festival, the winning plays and actors in various nominations were revealed.
The best play - "A Stateless Man" directed by Mariam Sikharulidze (Tkibuli Public Theater)
The best direction - director Irine Chkheidze, "Waiting for the Dodo" (Kharagauli Public Theater)
The best scenography - Mamuka Tkeshelashvili, "Samanishvili's stepmother" (Tskaltubo Public Theater) and "Bina" (Baghdati Public Theater)
The best musical arrangement - "Vali" (Vani People's Theater)
The main female role - Irine Chkheidze, "Waiting for the Dodo" (Kharagauli Public Theater)
The main male role - Giga Bubuteishvili, "Vali" (Vani Public Theater)
The best young male actor - Giga Abuladze, "Twelve Angry Men" (Eros Manjgaladze Drama Theater of Samtredia)
The best young female actress - Lizi Meparidze, "Factory Girls" (Terjoli Public Theater)
Episodic role of a woman - Mariam Meladze, "So what if the wet lilac is wet" (Khoni Public Theater)
The episodic role of the best man - Zurab Kurashvili, "Stepmother of Samanishvili" (Tskaltubo Public Theater)
Discovery of the festival - Sachkheri People's Theater "Round and Sharp Heads"
Jury's special prize - the dramatic play "Twelve Angry Men" named after Eros Manjgaladze of Samtredia.
15 performances were presented by the professional and public theaters operating at the international festival, among them, the Georgian audience was introduced to their own creations by the experimental theaters of Italy, the city of Naples, and the state theaters of Azerbaijan.
For the 14th year, the administration of the State Representative in Imereti and the theater society of Imereti have jointly implemented the project. Also, the festival is supported by all 12 municipalities of the region and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia.
