The arrangement of sports infrastructure in Imereti is at the final stage
10 infrastructural facilities were built and rehabilitated for the proper conduct of the UEFA U-21 European Football Championship in Georgia, including the Ramaz Shengelia Stadium in Kutaisi and the training-spare stadium in Tskaltubo.
Irakli Karseladze, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, and Zviad Shalamberidze, the State Representative in Imereti, inspected the ongoing and completed works for the organization of sports infrastructure.
As part of the rehabilitation and construction works, a new grass cover was arranged, new stadium lighting and sound systems, new chairs, LED advertising walls and others were installed.
Stadiums are equipped with UEFA standard grass cover and appropriate irrigation and drainage system.
The rehabilitation and construction works of the stadiums were carried out by the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure.
The works were carried out with the involvement and monitoring of UEFA.
The UEFA European Under-21 Championship will be held in Georgia and Romania from June 21 to July 8, in three cities of Georgia, Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi.
