In connection with the Kutaisi public holiday, delegations from friendly cities arrived in the city. The official reception of the guests was held at Kutaisi International University.

Bilateral relations with countries and cities are very important for us as a government team. Imereti region and the city of Kutaisi have many friendly cities and regions. We actively cooperate in various projects based on mutual cooperation, and I hope that we will do more in this direction, because one of the main priorities for our country is foreign policy.

Do you know that Kutaisi is the oldest city in the world, with 3500 years of history and European values. It is with European values that we continue diplomatic relations with different countries.
Each of you is well aware that Georgia's accession to the European Union is a strategic goal of our country's foreign policy, which fully reflects the unwavering will of the country's population to become a worthy and full-fledged member of the Commonwealth of Democratic Countries. Also, our country's unwavering goal is to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and your support on this path is very important.

Georgia is a democratic and free country. We will certainly achieve the main goal and become a member country of such organizations that will be a guarantee of Georgia's democracy and security" - Zviad Shalamberidze.
