Zviad Shalamberidze, The State Representative in Imereti, and Davit Cherkezishvili, the mayor of Tkibuli municipality, visited the city of Walbrzych in Poland, where a memorandum of friendship was signed between the two cities. The document was signed by Davit Cherkezishvili, Mayor of Tkibuli municipality, and Roman Szełemej, Mayor of Walbrzych city.

According to the memorandum, Tkibuli Municipality and the city of Walbrzych are united by an economy based on the industrial coal industry, which envisages close cooperation and sharing of experience in the future.

At the meeting, attention was focused on the development of important projects for the industrial revitalization of the city of Tkibuli, for which industrial revitalization plans will be prepared taking into account the best European practices and with the involvement of the local community.

Also, the parties will provide mutual support in the field of local government management, as well as exchange experiences gained in the fields of economy, culture, tourism and sports in their cities.

The official reception held in Walbrzych was also attended by delegations from various German and Polish cities. The members of the delegation paid their respects to the memory of those who died in the mine, attended a festive service and a festive dinner.
