The State Representative in Imereti received the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany
The State Representative in Imereti Zviad Shalamberidze received the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia, Ernst Peter Fischer. Within the framework of the official meeting, the parties discussed the issues in different directions.
"I thank you for coming to Imereti for the first time as part of the regional visit, it is a great honor for me personally and for the region. With the help of the German government, a number of projects have been implemented in the region, and I hope that our cooperation will be even closer in the future. Officially, the Imereti region and the municipalities included in it are not sister cities with German cities, and it would be good if we could sign a memorandum of cooperation and share experience in different directions.
For us, the experience of the EU countries is very important, because Georgia must fulfill all the obligations that the EU member states have already performed. We are striving towards the European Union and we hope Germany will stand by us on this road" - Zviad Shalamberidze.
At the meeting, The State Representative drew attention to the projects financed by the German government, which include important activities for the long-term resettlement of IDPs, economic, social and educational integration. Besides, he spoke about the active cooperation with GIZ, the aid agency of the German government.
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia, Ernst Peter Fischer, expressed readiness for close cooperation in the future.
