Representatives of the Business Ombudsman of Georgia held a meeting with representatives of the private sector in Kutaisi

Georgian Business Ombudsman Mikheil Daushvili and Head of Labor Conditions Inspecting Department Beka Peradze continue meetings with local business sector representatives in the regions. A meeting with representatives of the private sector was held in Kutaisi today.

Levan Kiknavelidze, the Deputy State Representative in Imereti addressed the guests with a welcoming speech at the event.

At the meeting, in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, the regulations developed for the sustainable recovery of economic activity and the prevention of the spread of the virus were discussed. Discussions with local businesses aim to raise awareness of the recommendations developed to prevent the spread of new coronavirus (COVID-19) in the private sector at the regional level and aims to facilitate enforcement of regulations. Mikheil Daushvili informed the representatives of the regional businesses about the support mechanisms of the Business Ombudsman's Office to protect the legitimate interests of the business during the inspection. At the meeting, the Head of the Labor Conditions Inspection Department spoke about the effective enforcement and supervision system in the private sector. The meeting was held in a discussion mode and the representatives of the private sector had the opportunity to ask questions about important topics and receive relevant advice from the agencies.

Until now, within the framework of a joint working platform of the Office of the Business Ombudsman and the Labor Conditions Inspecting Department, the business consultations on the recommendations developed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus were conducted with sectoral businesses operating throughout Tbilisi. At this stage, the platform is intensifying its work at the regional level to raise awareness of the approved regulations at the regional level. Regional meetings are especially important in municipalities where the hospitality industry is active. Meetings with local businesses have already been held in Borjomi, Batumi, Telavi and Zugdidi.

Within the framework of the joint work platform of the Office of the Business Ombudsman and the Labor Conditions Inspecting Department, regional meetings are held with the involvement of local self-government and the support of the International Labor Organization (ILO).
