The village of Gvankiti in Terjola municipality has been opened. According to the decision of the Coordination Council, a strict quarantine regime has been canceled in the village of Gvankiti, and only the police will remain at the so-called checkpoints.
"According to the decision of the Coordinating Council, restrictions will be canceled in Gvankiti from today, there will be no so-called quarantine zone, but there will be block posts where the population thermal screening process will continue until May 22, for purpose of prevention.As for the block posts at the entrances and exits of Kutaisi, we will start removing them today, "said Zviad Shalamberidze, State Representative in Imereti.
The village of Gvankiti in Terjola Municipality was closed on April 23 due to high epidemiological risk. As for Kutaisi, the city, as well as Tbilisi, Batumi and Rustavi, were closed by the decision of government on April 15. Kutaisi was opened on May 5, but checkpoints have been set up till today.
