THE STATE REPRESENTATIVE ADMINISTRATION

On March 27, memorandum of cooperation was signed between the partners of the European Commission-funded project "Local Cooperation, Improvement of Post-industrial Cities of Imereti Second Level" in Zestafoni.

Prior to the meeting, the goals and results of the project were reviewed. Within the framework of the project, the municipalities and partners' skills will be strengthened, to plan and implement projects related to industrial revitalization, so that the local community will benefit more.

The meeting was attended by First Deputy State Representative Zviad Shalamberidze, Deputy Representative Ioseb Khakhaleishvili, Heads of Zestafoni, Tkibuli and Chiatura municipalities, Poznan Metropolis Association and Sustainable Development Organization.

The European Commission decided to fund the project "Local Cooperation, Revitalization of Post-Industrial Cities of Imereti" at the end of 2018. The project budget is 355 000 Euros. The project envisages major projects for industrial revitalization of all three cities.  In this regard, the industrial revitalization plans will be prepared, according to the best European practices and with the involvement of local community.
