First phase of fighting against brown marmorated bug is underway in Imereti
In the Western Georgia, the first phase of anti-pest events is actively underway.
National Food Agency Monitoring Groups and Phytosomiters in Imereti Region, are inspecting household yards, hazelnut plantations and abandoned buildings, in order to determine the spreading area and quantity of brown barmorated bug.
The starting date for initiating anti-pest measures and the scope of processing areas will be determined based on the results of the monitoring.
In parallel with the anti-pest event, Deputy State Representative of Imereti Besik Gopodze and Head of the Coordination Management Center, Lasha Shalamberidze together with representatives of local government held meetings with population.
The locals receive precise information about the planned events and the technical methods of fighting pests.
