Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili's visit to Imereti region continues. Aiming the regional development and support, President Zourabichvili visited the botanical garden in Kutaisi as a cultural heritage monument and symbolically planted a tree. She also visited Niko Mari's museum.

The President of Georgia also viewed the Rioni HPP headquarters, which is an outstanding example of engineering and industrial architecture. The idea of ​​building a dam is linked to the production of ferromanganese, which requires a large amount of cheap electricity and this issue was entrusted to the hydrotechnic invited from Berlin. Construction of a hydro power plant on the river Rioni near Kutaisi started in 1927. The President also got acquainted with the archaeological site.

Salome Zourabichvili was met in Kutaisi by Deputy State Representative Ioseb Khakhaleishvili and local self-government representatives.
