Discussion of the Mid-term Strategy of Decentralization in Kutaisi
The review of the Mid-term Strategy of Decentralization (2019-2025) was held in Imereti region. The strategy covers the period until 2025, which includes new powers of self-governance, as well as increased financial resources and creation of better mechanisms for citizen participation. The Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mzia Giorgobiani spoke about the strategy in details. She noted that opinions at the meetings will be reflected in the strategy. After the review of the strategy, a number of consequent matters were discussed.
Meeting was attended by Deputy State Representative of Imereti Besik Gopodze, Heads of Imereti Municipalities and representatives from the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure.
Discussions on the decentralization strategy is held by the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia, UNDP, with the support from Danish, Switzerland and Austrian governments and the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.
