Environmental sustainability and circular economy - the issue was discussed within the joint initiative of the European Union and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP Georgia).

State Representative in Imereti Zviad Shalamberidze, mayors of all 12 municipalities, representatives of the European Union and the United Nations signed a memorandum of cooperation, which envisages the establishment of a sustainable system of partnership between the private and public sectors to improve waste management, separation and recycling in the Imereti region.

At the working meeting, the current and upcoming regulations in Georgia in the direction of waste management were discussed.

Within the framework of mutual cooperation of the signatories, joint measures will be planned, which will contribute to the improvement of waste management, separation and recycling in municipalities.
