Within the framework of the sports infrastructure development project, a launch base was organized on Leselidze Street, and a reception area on Agmashenebeli Avenue.

A demonstration landing was organized from the launch base, which was attended by Imereti State Representative Zviad Shalamberidze, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Mzia Giorgobiani, Kutaisi Mayor Ioseb Khakhaleishvili and local government representatives.

"Rafting is a very popular sport in Rioni river, both for our fellow citizens and for our foreign tourists. Therefore, we decided to further improve the conditions that Kutaisi offered to fans of extreme sports. With the financial assistance of the European Union, we were able to build new starting and receiving buildings, which I think will improve the conditions and make this type of sport more popular for interested parties" - Zviad Shalamberidze.

1 892 149 GEL was spent on the arrangement of the rafting base.

It should be noted that infrastructural projects worth 69,656,927 GEL have been financed and implemented in Imereti with the financing of the European Union, within the framework of the integrated development program of the pilot regions.
