On February 8, the Orthodox Church of Georgia celebrates the day of commemoration of the holy king, Davit Agmashenebeli.

"Davitoba" is specially celebrated in Kutaisi. Various events dedicated to this day will be held throughout the day.

Levan Sanikidze, the first deputy of the state representative of Imereti, Ioseb Khakhaleishvili, the mayor of Kutaisi, Irakli Shengelia, the chairman of the council, and the representatives of the local government decorated the monument of Davit Agmashenebeli with flowers and paid tribute to the memory of the great king.

Holy King Davit Agmashenebeli became king in 1089 at the age of 16 and reigned for 36 years.
